UK's most expensive drug saves one of two sisters' lives
The two sisters in the picture are Nala aged 3 years and Teddy aged 19 months. Nala and Teddy have contracted a deadly disease called MLD. Due to the old age of Nala, it has become difficult to treat it. Both girls have MLD, a disease that causes significant damage to the brain and nervous system. The disease costs more than £2.8 million to treat and is the most expensive drug ever approved by the UK Department of Health.
