Malegaon: Even today, people in India have faith in the judiciary and accept the decisions made by the court. A unique case among the various historical judgments of the country took place in the local court of Malegaon, a Muslim-majority city in the state of Maharashtra.

A local civil court ordered a criminal to offer five time daily prayers (Namaz) in the Mosque. It was also urged to perform all the five daily prayers on time. The obligatory prayers of Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Magrib and Isha are included in these five time prayers. The judge of the court has also given the responsibility to the criminal to plant two trees around the mosque and look after it.

Honorable Judge Tejwant Singh Sindhu of the local civil court of Malegaon city delivered a historic judgment on Monday, February 27, 2023. In which the convict Rauf Khan Umar Khan (30 years) residing in Karanti Nagar, Camp Malegaon was given a unique sentence. In which Rauf Khan was ordered to perform the obligatory five-time prayers at Sonapur Masjid for 21 days from Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Also released on the condition of planting two trees around the mosque and protecting it.

It should be noted that a letter has been sent to the Imam and Khateeb of Sonapur Mosque on this decision from the local court. On the other hand, a copy of this decision has also been given to the Department of Agriculture. In this case, the Imam and the officer of the Agriculture Department have been asked to keep an eye on the culprit.

According to the details found in this case, on April 19, 2010, the complainant Muhammad Sharif Sheikh filed a complaint against the accused Rauf Khan at Camp Police Station. This case was a minor dispute that took place near Sonapur Masjid. In which the accused Rauf Khan tried to harm victim Muhammad Sharif Sheikh. After which the matter reached the police station and the court. In this matter, the police completed the action by registering a case against the accused under sections 323, 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.
