12 Cheetahs arrived in Indian National Park from South Africa
After India's independence, not a single cheetah was seen across the country. The Government of India has taken an initiative to save and develop the species by importing cheetahs from South Africa.
Recently, the Indian Air Force transported 12 cheetahs from the forests of South Africa to a national park in the state of Madhya Pradesh (MP). South Africa's Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment aims to increase the Cheetahs population in India.
